Frequently Asked Questions

Is a membership at North Lakes Golf Club permanent?

All memberships at North Lakes are annual, meaning they must be renewed each year.

Do I have to pay a joining fee each year?

No – the joining fee is charged only once. As long as the membership remains current the joining fee is waived upon renewal.

Does the club have regular competitions in which I can enter?

The club has a Member’s competition every Saturday with times reserved specifically for members. There are also weekly competitions, Monday to Friday.

Do I have to book my tee time?

Yes – you have to both book and cancel if you cannot make your allocated time.

Can I play in the competition time on a Saturday without being in the competition?

No, competition times are set aside just for that reason. It is still possible to reserve tee times just behind the competition field.

When can Ladies play?

Ladies and men have equal playing rights and the same playing times.

What about Juniors?

We have very good junior clinics run by our professionals at various times throughout the week. We also have a membership specifically designed for junior players.

Can I bring guests and how often?

Yes, you can bring up to 3 guests at the current member guest rate each time you play. If you bring a particular guest more than 6 times a year our guidelines state that this guest should become a member and enjoy all the benefits of membership.

If I am a member and want to hold a corporate or social golf day at the club, can I apply my member guest rate for that day?

No. The member guest rate only applies to 3 guests per tee time if you are an Individual, Silver, Family or Junior member (Corporate Membership carries different conditions). However, we encourage our members to hold events at the club, and will work with you to find the time that fits your circumstances.

North Lakes has always been a “cart only course” ‐ but can I walk if I want to?

We appreciate that there are some golfers that enjoy walking the golf course. We have adjusted our policy to allow members and their guests to walk if they wish.

Do you offer incentives to me if I bring a new member to join the club?

Generally the club’s management hopes that members will invite their friends to join because our members enjoy their membership and wish to share the experience with their friends. However, the club does offer incentives from time to time if a particular membership drive is occurring.

Do I get any discounts within the clubhouse?

Yes, members receive discounts on merchandise as well as food and beverage.

Am I allowed to charge to an account?

Yes, all members in good standing are provided with an account at the club so long as the terms are adhered to.

Can I pay my membership by installments?

We want to make joining as easy as possible for new members. We now have several ways you can pay. You can pay annually (normal credit card charges apply) or monthly by direct debit only. Please note that Junior memberships cannot be paid by instalments. If paid monthly the first payment is in advance and includes the Administration Fee, Insurance and the first month’s Installment Payment.
