Our top 5 Wedding Tips!
.Hire a ‘Day –of’ Coordinator, so you can enjoy your wedding day. So you don’t receive phone calls on the morning of your wedding asking “Where are the lanterns?”, “Who is picking up so & so?”, “What time are the caterers arriving?”, etc… Coordinators let you enjoy your day by keeping drama at bay.
.There are no rules – want to have a BYOM (Bring your own meat) picnic on the beach? Do it! Don’t want to toss the bouquet or garter – then don’t! Prefer not to wait till the ceremony for your 1st look – then don’t. Don’t like cake? Don’t have one! If you want to do it, then do it. If you don’t want it, then don’t have it! Do what is important to you and work your plan around that. After all, it’s YOUR wedding.
.The best way to get your guests on the dance floor is to ask them what their favourite song is and have the DJ play them. The easiest way to manage this is to have your DJ make an announcement that they will be taking requests. If you want to personalise it, you could incorporate it into your planning beforehand, or have your coordinator or a designated person ask your guests, on the day, and create a list. Once those favourite songs start playing – watch the dance floor fill up and your guests come alive.
.Make a list for your groom with all the things he needs to do on the morning of the wedding. Whilst your bridesmaids are great at helping you to remember everything, groomsmen are less likely to be helpful when it comes to planning and remembering. They are more likely to remember the beer than the rings.
.Wedding Videography is a must! If you are worried about the cost, you could choose a raw-footage only package, and then edit it yourself using a program like iMovie. But I have found it you shop around you can find value for money and/or great deals. I really wanted Storyteller Films to video our wedding, but I just didn’t have the budget for it. I shopped around and with the help of Brisbane Brides Facebook Page I found an awesome videographer for a fantastic introductory price (he was just breaking into the wedding market, after doing years of corporate work), and it was everything I wanted and more. I highly recommend having your dream day recorded on video to view again and again, and again, and again………
